# Wallpaper

The desktop backdrop.

**Theme settings → Wallpaper**

The picture behind the icons, on every page — or only the home page, if you choose.

| Setting            | What it does                                                        |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Image**          | The wallpaper, scaled to cover the screen                           |
| **Tile the image** | Repeats it at its own size instead. Best with a small pixel pattern |
| **Video**          | Plays muted and looped behind the desktop                           |
| **Show on**        | Every page (default), or the home page only                         |

Set an **image as well as a video**. The image shows while the video loads, and it replaces the video for visitors whose device asks for reduced motion.

With no wallpaper, the desktop is the palette's own colour.

## Overlay

A colour wash over the wallpaper, so icon labels stay readable on a busy picture.

* **Colour** — black by default, to darken. Pick white to lift it instead.
* **Strength** — 0 to 90%. 0 is off, and it's 0 until you change it.
