# Search & Sharing

What search engines and link previews read, and where each piece comes from.

**Theme settings → Search & sharing** is a page of notes, not settings — there is nothing to fill in. EXP-98 writes everything search engines and link previews read from your store's own content.

## Where each piece comes from

| What | Where you set it |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| Home page search title and description | **Online Store → Preferences** |
| The picture shown when your home page is shared | **Online Store → Preferences** → social sharing image |
| A product's, collection's or page's search title and description | That item in your admin → **Search engine listing** |
| A product's sharing picture | Its main image |
| Your logo, for search engines | **Settings → Brand** |

## What the theme adds for you

* **Link previews** — every page carries the tags that make a shared link unfold into a card with a picture, title and description. Product links carry their price too.
* **Product details for Google** — products are described with Shopify's own structured data, including every variant, its price and whether it's in stock.
* **Blog posts** — described the same way.
* **Your store** — on the home page, your store name, logo and site search are described for search engines.
* **Breadcrumbs** — collections, products and posts say where they sit: Home › Collection › Product.
* **One heading per page** — the store name on the home page; the window's title — the product, the collection, the page — everywhere else.

The desktop looks like one page, but every product, collection and page has its own real address, and that address is what search engines index.
