Screensaver

Which screensaver runs, and when.

Theme settings → Screensaver

After a visitor has been idle for a while, the screen goes to a screensaver. Any click, key or scroll wakes it — and that first input only wakes the screen. It isn't passed through to the page, so nobody opens a product by accident while waking the screen.

Visitors can also start it on purpose: Start → Sleep.

Settings

Setting
Default

Start after

60 seconds idle (15 to 300)

Bouncing logo image

empty

The bouncing logo uses, in order: the image you set here; your store's logo from Settings → Brand; the Start button's logo; and failing all of those, your store name. A transparent PNG works best — it is recoloured on every bounce.

Reduced motion

Visitors whose device asks for reduced motion never get the idle screensaver. Sleep still works for them, because that's a choice they made rather than something sprung on them.

The screensaver never starts by itself in the theme editor. Use Sleep there to preview it.
