# Appearance

Palette, shoppers' own colour schemes, and browser theme colour.

## Palette

Seven palettes. Each is a full skin, not a tint: it recolours the desktop, every window's chrome, the title bars, the buttons and the icon set together.

## Let shoppers change the colour scheme

On by default. Adds **Display** to the Start menu, which opens **Display Properties** — 98's Appearance tab: a little picture of the desktop with an active and an inactive window, and a **Scheme** list (Windows Standard, Rainy Day, Desert, Midnight, Bubblegum, Terminal, High Contrast). Picking one repaints the whole store straight away. **OK** or **Apply** keeps it, on that shopper's browser only; **Cancel** puts back what was there. Everyone starts on the palette you chose above.

## Mouse trails

**Theme settings → Shell → Offer mouse trails** (on by default) adds a **Mouse trails** tick box to Display Properties. Ticked, a tail of six ghost arrows follows the pointer, as 98's Mouse settings offered. It's off until the shopper ticks it, remembered on their browser, and only on computers: a finger has no pointer. Untick the theme setting and the box is gone.

## Browser theme colour

Phones tint their browser's address bar to match the page. With no wallpaper set, that is this colour — teal by default. Once you set a wallpaper, the bar takes the palette's window grey instead, automatically, so it never clashes with your picture.
