Profile (About us)

Your About page as a 2006 social profile.

An About page that looks like a mid-2000s social profile, opened in a Windows 98 browser window: your picture and name, Online Now!, a Contacting box, your Details, About me and Who I'd like to meet, a Top 8 and a wall of Comments. Optionally, a song from your music player plays when it opens.

It comes filled in with sample content, so you can see it straight away and replace it piece by piece.

Setting it up

  1. Online Store → Pages → Add page. Title it About (any title works). The page's own text isn't used — everything comes from the theme editor.

  2. Under Theme template, choose about. Save.

  3. Theme editor → open that page → click the Profile (About us) section and fill it in.

  4. To put it on the desktop: Desktop section → Add block → Shortcut, link it to the page, and pick the Profile card icon (or upload your own).

What's in it

Part
Where you set it

Name, picture, tagline, the lines under it, Online Now!

The section's settings. The name defaults to your store's; the picture to your logo

Contacting box

Nothing to set: Send Message opens your contact page, Add to Friends your email sign-up, Instant Message your first social profile, Forward to Friend shares the page (or copies its link)

Details — Status, Founded, Hometown, Mood…

Detail blocks: a label and a value each

About me, Who I'd like to meet

The section's settings

Top 8

Up to eight Top 8 friend blocks: a product (its picture, title and page fill themselves in), or any name, picture and link — a collaborator, a stockist, your crew

Friend count

Number of friends — whatever you like

Comments

Comment blocks: a name, picture, date and the comment. Reviews and shout-outs work well

Profile song

The track number from your music player, or 0 for none. It starts when the page's window opens, if the browser allows sound at that moment

The profile keeps its own 2006 colours whatever palette the store uses, the way a web page did inside Windows.
