# Size Chart

A different size chart for each product.

The Product section's **Size chart page** setting gives every product the same chart. For a chart per product — tees and trousers, say — connect that setting to a product metafield instead.

## 1. Make the charts

Create one page per chart under **Online Store → Pages** — "Size chart — Tops", "Size chart — Bottoms" — each written the easy way, one line per size with a | between columns (see [Size chart](/exp98-shopify-theme/exp98/sections-and-features/product.md#size-chart)).

## 2. Create the metafield

1. **Settings → Custom data → Products** → **Add definition**
2. **Name:** Size chart (anything works)
3. **Type:** **Page** — one page, not a list
4. Save

## 3. Choose a chart on each product

Open a product. Under **Metafields**, pick its chart page. Products that share a fit can share a chart.

## 4. Connect it in the theme

1. Theme editor → a product → the **Product** section
2. Beside **Size chart page**, click the **Connect dynamic source** icon
3. Choose the **Size chart** metafield

Each product now shows its own chart. Products with no chart chosen don't show the link.

The **in / cm** switch works on every chart the same way — see [The rules the switch needs](/exp98-shopify-theme/exp98/sections-and-features/product.md#the-rules-the-switch-needs). If your charts are written in different units (tops in inches, say, and trousers in centimetres), name the unit inside each table — a heading like *Chest (in)* — and leave **The chart's measurements are in** on *Read it from the chart*; the theme reads each chart's own unit.

**Show it beside these options** still decides which option gets the link — `Size` unless you change it.

## Why the link isn't showing

* The product's options don't include one with a name on your list. A product whose option is called "Fit" won't show the link unless "Fit" is listed.
* The product has no chart chosen in its metafield.
* The product has only one variant, so there are no options to put the link beside.
