# EXP-98

A Windows 98 desktop that happens to be a shop — windows, icons, a Start menu, a CD player, screensavers and games, on real product URLs.

EXP-98 is a single-tier theme that turns your store into a Windows 98 desktop. Collections are folders, products open in windows, the cart is a dialog, and there is a taskbar with a Start menu along the bottom. It is built to be played with, and built so that playing with it keeps people looking at your products.

There's one tier. Everything below is included.

## What it's for

Brands with a point of view — streetwear, music, merch, anything with a following — that want the store itself to be something people send to each other. The theme assumes you want:

* A home page that's a **desktop**, not a hero banner: icons for your shop, collections, search and cart, plus music, video, photos and games
* Real shopping underneath the costume: every product, collection and page has its **real URL**, so links can be shared, indexed and advertised
* Things that make people stay — a **music player** with a visualizer, **screensavers**, and **mini-games** that can hand out a discount code
* The same desktop on a phone, laid out as a grid of icons with windows that stack

## What's included

* **Desktop** with shortcut icons, text windows (a Read me), and launchers for Music, Video, Photos and Policies
* **Folders for collections** — Icons, List and Details views, a **filter bar** and sorting
* **Product windows** with a gallery that plays **video and 3D models**, variant buttons, a **size chart**, and **You may also like**
* **Cart** with a **goal progress bar** (free shipping, free gift…) and **You may also like** suggestions
* **Music player** — up to 12 tracks, cover art printed on a spinning disc, and a full-screen **visualizer**
* **Videos**, **Photos** and **Policies** windows on every page
* **Eight games** — MATCH, WORM, MINEFIELD, BRICKS, WALLS, PIPES, PUZZLE, SOLITAIRE — that can reveal a discount code or the store password
* **Screensavers** — bouncing logo, starfield, Mystify, 3D pipes, 3D maze, 3D text
* **Seven palettes**, wallpaper image or video, CRT screen effects and a switch-on animation
* **Enter gate** with a Windows 98 log-on screen (boot screen optional), an **email sign-up** dialog, a **password page** with a countdown, email sign-up (built-in, Klaviyo or any app) and games to play your way in
* Predictive search, filters on search results, SEO and structured data written for you
